8:00am – Understanding Soils and Choosing the Right Foundation Type

Speaker: Frank Bowman, Illinois Manufactured Home Association

HUD Code regulations and all manufacturer installation manuals require soil testing for the installation of new homes. Most states also require similar testing for installing relocated homes and yet many of today’s MHC owners and investors have very little understanding of the soils that underly their real estate assets. Join Frank for a dive beneath the surface on soils and how they might impact your decision on which foundation system to use.

MHI’s CEO, Dr. Lesli Gooch, will provide an update about the actions MHI is taking to elevate manufactured housing in Washington so that federal policies support manufactured housing as a part of addressing the nation’s housing supply shortage.
