Update on MHI’s Underserved Home Buyer Strategic Research Initiative – In 2016, the Manufactured Housing Institute launched a strategic research initiative to profile the housing needs and opportunities for the industry among various underserved potential home buyers: millennials, step-down baby boomers and immigrants. The goal of the initiative is to help the industry better understand the needs, preferences and perceptions towards the manufactured housing industry from these groups and develop a new class of homes that meets their housing needs. During this session, learn what the findings from Phase I of the initiative have discovered and what the next steps the research initiative will be undertaking.

Join us for a panel discussion with engineers responsible for establishing the minimum installation requirements for their company’s manufactured homes and how they are addressing foundation affordability. This panel will add clarity and ease your fears about meeting minimum installation standards and discuss recent or proposed changes to installation manuals, the effects of frost-prone soils on choosing a cost-effective foundation system and basic installation requirements that are similar to all makes of manufactured homes.
